Messy worship - pampering

Welcome to our website, see and read about our Messy Church launched at Ravenmeols community centre on Pentecost Sunday the 23rd May 2010 . Messy Church is a joint venture between St Luke's and Holy Trinity Church Formby and takes place in Ravenmeols Community Centre and we also launched in Redgate school on July 18th 2010!

Messy Church Formby is about having time together to have fun, explore faith, worship God and have a meal. Messy Church Formby welcomes everyone, aims to involve everyone, and values everyone. It is called Messy Church because you get Messy! People arrive and have a choice of 10-12 craft activities which feed into the theme of the service. Following an hour of crafts and other activities then there is the celebration. Then there is food! There is a cheap and cheerful meal for everyone to enjoy time together before leaving

Messy Church is especially designed to reach out to families including those for whom Sunday morning worship is difficult due to family circumstances.

  • It is an all-age church where everyone is valued equally.
  • It provides an informal environment for all-ages to explore and experience faith and worship through crafts, food and celebration.
  • It describes each and every one of us as no one is perfect and each of us lead messy lives for many reasons.
  • It invites us to come together, making things together, eating together and celebrating God together. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

The Messy Churches in Formby are being held in Ravenmeol’s Community Centre and in Redgate School quarterly. Holy Trinity and St Luke’s Churches in Formby are working together to enable these new churches to happen. Come along and try it for yourself; you will be welcome!
